Table 0 — About
Built around one habit: check the source before you write the sentence.
A short account of how Fenvora started and what continues to shape it.
Table 1 — Our story
Fenvora began after a small group of reporters kept running into the same problem: figures pulled from official releases were often misquoted, and by the time a correction ran, the misreading had already spread. What started as informal sessions with a handful of newsrooms grew into a structured programme.
We are not a data journalism agency and we do not produce stories on anyone's behalf. Our role is narrower and, we think, more useful in the long run — teaching people to work with published statistics carefully enough that their own reporting holds up.
Every session draws on Kenya's actual statistical output — census releases, sector surveys, budget documents — rather than generic examples, because the habits that matter are the ones formed on real material.
Table 2 — What guides us
Values
01
Accuracy over speed
A figure reported a day later and correctly is worth more than one rushed into print with the wrong caveat missing.
02
Lawful methods only
We work exclusively with publicly available, lawfully published material. There is no shortcut we consider worth the risk.
03
Work that can be checked
If a reader can't trace a claim back to its source, the claim isn't finished. We teach documentation as part of the method, not an afterthought.
